I thought it was going to rain this weekend, so I arranged for most of the activities to be indoors. On Saturday, I left my husband and daughter with my in-laws and went to the Cockpit Arts in Holborn. It was actually located off John Street which is very close to where I use to work in Doughty Street. It was extremely busy this time and much more jewlery and ceramics. It wasn't as good as last time because I didn't have my photographer (my daugther) and then my camera ran out of batteries. So no photos this time. I still had a good day there, so much inspiration.Then on Sunday we went to Ikea to buy a few things and these fabrics:
Thanks Lisa for letting me know that Ikea sell Linen. I might make some bags with these fabrics.

Thanks for paying me a visit and leaving your loveley comment. I have a few books on dress making but the one I found the most enjoyable to read was Yeah! I made it myself by Eithne Farry. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down, she is so witty and makes everything seem so simple. I made a smocked top last night following her instructions and it was so easy. Even my daughter thought it was rather cool and now she has put her order in for one! (We don't ususally agree on clothes, something to do with the age gap I think).

Lovely new fabrics - I keep on meaning to go to ikea to pick up some fabric.
Nice fabrics! Ikea is a good source of fabrics, right? I have some of the colourful Scandinavian patterned one from there. I couldn't go to Holborn last weekend as we had to go to Greenwich town centre (to post the belated father's day card).
The photo of the sky makes me feel so content... :D Though I think it might rain this weekend (saw the wather forecarst just now :(

Hi All! Thanks for all the comments. I do like the fabrics at Ikea, they are so affordable. I try not to use my expensive fabrics as I'm alway afraid that I might ruin them.
I have just bought that green flowery fabric today, I really like Ikea fabric a lot, bold prints and good prices(ideal!) - undecided if I shall make a large tote bag or attempt a skirt to wear in the sunshine! My dressmaking skills are in need of a kickstart
Hi Ursy87! I couldn't resist the green flowerly fabric too. I walked away, then had to go back and by it. I'm thinking of making a bag. I'm finding it difficult to find time. It will be done eventually.
