On my way to work I always pick up the Metro (a free newspaper provided in the London Underground) to relieve the stress of commuting during the rush hour. Look what I found today:

A whole article on Knitting by Kristina Georgiou, how cool is that! It certainly cheered up such a miserable start to the week. It promotes knitting help.com and ravelry.com for new knitters and cool patterns on Knitty.com (yes Kyoko the one you recommended). I'm really interested in checking out these website, but will have to resist until the craft fair is over as I really need to focus on my baking over the next few weeks. I have noticed that there has been an increase in articles in British magazines and newspapers on buying 'Handmade', there was an article in the Metro a few weeks ago promoting Etsy.

how cool! I never really get to read Metro, only the Standard in the evenings. I've never heard of knitting help.com normally I just scream if I get into any difficulties.
Always happy to see knitting articles and I agree that all those websites are fab.
Great work on the beret and good luck with the clouds :o)
Wonderful to see knitting and other crafts becoming fashionable again! In our busy materialistic world - it is great to make something by hand - very therapeutic. Have a great weekend.
Cool! I love seeing articles promoting handmade in big newspapers!
handmade is definitely in. I pretty just buy stuff on etsy or from other bloggers now. My only deviation is books, which I buy on Chapters.com. It's great to see a news paper doing an article on knitting.
That is so cool. I wish I read that article. Knitty is a good site isn't it? Sometimes I wish I had few more pair of hands (although I would look strange) to finish what I knit.....Hope you had a good weekend!
My dad was saying that there was an article in one of the broadsheets about knitting becoming much more popular in the UK. It doesn't stop me from feeling like a little old lady while I'm sat knitting in the passenger seat, mind.
